Dr. Chandrasen Jadon

Dr. Chandrasen Jadon is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Firozabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). Jadon has been in political field since more than two decades. He has remained loyal to BJP all throughout his political career. He has held various important positions in the party at district level.

However, one crucial thing that was missing in Jadon's political career was a win in an election. Jadon had contested in 1996 election, but had come third. His big break came in 2019 when he was chosen to represent Firozabad Lok Sabha seat. His selection came as a surprise to everyone, as he was not among the usual list of candidates who wanted to contest from Firozabad on BJP ticket.

But when Jadon's name was announced, local party workers were quite happy. That's because Jadon had worked at the grassroots level and was a known figure in the party. And it turned out to be a good decision for BJP, as Jadon won by more than 27,000 votes defeating Akshay Yadav.

Jadon's win from Firozabad becomes all the more significant, as the seat is considered to be a stronghold of Samajwadi Party (SP). Even Akhilesh Yadav had won from Firozabad in 2009. In 2014 election, the seat was won by SP candidate Akshay Yadav, who is part of the extended Yadav family. In 2014, Akshay had defeated S. P. Singh Baghel of BJP by a comfortable margin.

2019 general elections in Uttar Pradesh were also significant, as opposition parties like SP and BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) had fought the elections under a common alliance named 'mahagathbandhan'. Firozabad had another twist in the tale as Shivpal Singh Yadav was also in the fray from Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia).

Due to these reasons, many people were thinking that Jadon has little chance. However, Jadon proved his mettle by winning the 2019 election from Firozabad.
