Top countries that do not have US Embassies and Why

 

 There are various reasons for the US to limit their Embassies; some of the obvious reasons include –natural disasters, security concerns, civil unrest, or war. In this article, the countries without US Embassies are listed along with their reasons. However, the countries with short-term closures of US Embassies aren’t included.

1.       Iran: The citizens of Iran looking for US Visa will have to get help from US Embassies in Ankara of Turkey, Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates, or Yerevan of Armenia. The country has reportedly refused to entertain the idea of re-opening a US Embassy in the capital state –Tehran because of the “illogical” or irrelevant attitude displayed by the country. Mainly abrasive behavior is the main reason behind the decision.

2.       Bhutan: The country located in the terrains of the Himalayan region between India and China –Bhutan doesn’t have a US Embassy. On the other hand, Bhutan became a member of the United Nations as early as in the year 1971; the tiny kingdom doesn’t possess diplomatic relations with the US. For applying for a US Visa the citizens of Bhutan can apply it in the US Embassy in New Delhi, India.

3.       Caribbean Islands: The list of Caribbean islands includes –Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia. Though these picturesque islands do not possess physical diplomatic relations with the US, there has been a constant push by Congress to introduce a US Embassy in the Islands. However, the residents can get help from the US Embassy in Barbados in order to apply for the Visa.

4.       North Korea: Nestled towards the southeastern side of China, is North Korea. The country is particularly infamous for the notorious secret society that seeks complete isolation from the rest of the world. While diplomatic issues prevail with the US, North Korea is still on talking terms with the Nation. If you are looking to apply for US Visa you can do that from the US Embassy in Beijing, China.

5.       Guinea-Bissau: This is a West African Country that is now run by the president elected through democratic elections. The small country has experienced its fair share of civil wars and coups and is now functioning peacefully. Although the diplomatic relations of the US are just fine with Guinea-Bissau, there hasn’t been an Embassy established yet. You can look for the Embassy in Dakar, Senegal for the US Visa.
